MODULAR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

Refinec is chosen to participate to EcoSMR project with several partners like LUT, VTT, Fortum and others.
We have built test reactor to LUT University’s test laboratory, where the reactor is in testing use – though not yet with nuclear power.
Refinec – at the edge of the future.
Small SMR-reactor effiency is from few tens to few hundreds megawatts. Small reactor can operate as invidual unit, or one can assemble few of them together. They can produce heat or electricity – or both.
In LUT University they aim to create new solution to heating’s carbon emissions by developing small nuclear reactor which can produce heat. At smallest it would produce 20-30 megawatts, with few of these they could cover small town’s heating needs with very low Co2 emissions.
